  • What is Hemp?
All hemp is cannabis but not all cannabis is hemp. Hemp refers to non-intoxicating varieties of the plant Cannabis sativa L. and contains less than .3% THC but is rich in other cannabinoids (such as CBD), terpenes and phytonutrients. Hemp has a long history of use as an adaptogen, working to maintain equilibrium within the body, and has been cultivated and used by people for thousands of years. There are different types of hemp, such as industrial hemp, which is grown for fiber, nutrition (its seeds are nutrient rich) and oil. Craft hemp, which is our focus here, is carefully cultivated to produce cannabinoid rich flower. Hemp is a potent bio-accumulator meaning it will readily pull pesticides and heavy metals from the soil which is why it is so important to use only organic craft hemp. Furthermore, industrial hemp is very low in cannabinoids and as such requires industrial chemicals and systems to extract the goodness. These chemicals are difficult if not impossible to fully remove, often resulting in extracts with residual solvents left in them.
  • What is CBD?
CBD is short for Cannabidiol which is one of the predominant cannabinoids found in hemp/cannabis. It is only one of the 100+ cannabinoids found in the hemp plant and may have a soothing and calming effect. CBD has a safe track record of use and has been used in traditional medicines safely for thousands of years.
  • What is Rosin?
Rosin is a pure and potent extract made by pressing the cannabis plant using only high pressure and low tempertures. Unlike other extracts produced using solvents (think isolates and distillates) we never use any harsh chemicals, for a true solventless concentrate. Rosin has the added benefit of being truly full-spectrum, as it contains all of the cannabinoids, terpenes snd phytonutrients, and all in the same ratio, as the plant. Just as it grows, just as nature intended. We call this our "Pressed Plant Magic". Other companies selling broad-spectrum products most always use a chemical extraction and then add other cannabinoids or terpenes back in for effect. Think of the difference of a cold pressed juice to a juice made from concentrate and refortified with vitamins. We never need to reintroduce these compounds, as they never left. This is important because all of these compounds work together synergistically to produce an effect greater than the sum of its parts. This is known as the entourage effect. For more information check out our blog about rosin here
  • What is the Entourage Effect/Endocannabinoid System?
The Entourage Effect occurs when all of the cannabnoids, terpenes asnd phytonutrients are present and allowed to work together, resulting in a much greater effect than any compound used in isolation. 1 + 1 = 5. As a result, full-spectrum products have the greatest overall effect, more so than broad spectrum or isolates, allowing the use of a lower effective dose. Meaning with a full-spectrum product you're getting a lot more Nice for your nickel. While research on the exact way this works is still ongoing, we do know that the interplay of different cannabinoids/compounds amongst themselves and our bodies own endocannbinoid system plays a major role. That's right, your body has an endocannabinoid system, meaning our bodies were actually designed to interact with this plant. Pretty cool, huh? The endocannabinoid system (ECS) works to maintain bodily homeostasis across many systems of the body. In fact, many disorders (IBS, fibromyalgia, migraines) may be linked to dysfunction of the endocannabinoid system and are currently being studied for such. The ECS has three main components: endocannabinoids (made by the body), receptors that they bind to and enzymes that break them down to elicit a response. The most abundant receptors are CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are mostly found in the central nervous system, while CB2 are mostly found on the peripheral nervous system especially immune cells. Phytocannabinoids elicit therapeutic effects by binding to these receptors. So remember how we discussed the difference of a full-specrum product? This is why that makes such a big difference in its effects!
  • Are these legal? Hemp-derived THC and the Law...
All Nice products are infused with our proprietary rosin pressed in-house from USDA organic hemp and are 100% legal. Pursuant to the 2018 Farm Bill, no hemp-derived product can contain more than .3% THC by final weight. This leaves plenty of room to add in the Nice and still be completely compliant. And as always, we third-party lab test all of our products. So rest assured, you can view the full COA (Certificate of Analysis) on the product page and see the full breakdown of cannabinoids.
  • Finding Your Dose?
CBD: For those new to hemp we suggest starting with a lower dose of 5-10mg. Wait at least 30 minutes to gauge how you feel. As cannabinoids tend to accumulate over time, we suggest consuming for 2-4 weeks to feel the full effects. While there are no major side effects associated with hemp, in very high doses it can cause lethargy, drowsiness and upset stomach. Adjust your dose accordingly. Hemp-derived THC: THC derived from hemp is the same as cannabis-derived THC (remember how all hemp IS cannabis) and can be intoxicating. We suggest those new to Nice edibles start with a small amount and wait up to two hours for the full effects to kick in. We have found 5mg is an amount most first-time consumers feel comfortable with. Keep in mind, our products are truly full-spectrum and 5mg of our rosin is stronger than 5mg of an isolate. We've often heard our products "hit" a lot stronger than others, so it's always a good idea to start low and go slow. You can always increase your dosage as needed, but you can't uneat an edible.
  • Pregnant, Nursing, Medication, Children?
Always consult with your physician before any supplementation program. This is especially true for those pregnant, nursing, taking medication and for children.
  • Pet Friendly?
Our Nice CBD Drops contain only organic coconut MCT oil and our full-spectrum hemp rosin. While designed for human consumption, our CBD Drops are pet safe. As alway consult with your veterinarian before supplementing their diet.
  • Drug Testing?
We are a full-spectrum hemp product and contain all of the cannabinoids present in the plant including THC. We conform to federal regulations regarding hemp and all of our products are under .3% THC. When consumed at suggested serving sizes our CBD products should not cause a positive result for most people but individual metabolism and less sophisticated testing methods can lead to outliers. We've recently added products with higher ratios of ∆9 THC. These items, although 100% hemp derived, can result in failed drug tests.
  • Allergens?
Nice products are free of all major allergens including eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, milk, wheat. They are also free of gluten, artificial colors and flavors, high fructose corn syrup and GMOs.
  • What makes us Nice?
All Nice products are 100% plant-based vegan, made with nothing artificial and infused with our full-spectrum rosin, containing all of the terpenes, flavanoids, and phytonutrients naturally present in the hemp plant. No harsh chemicals or solvents are ever used and nothing is ever added back in. Just pure pressed plant magic. In addition, all of our ingredients are non-gmo, organic and sourced locally, whenever possible. We third-party lab test all products and put QR codes to COAs right on our packages. We strive to produce the best possible products, with full-transparency of their quality, our methods and company ethos, standing behind everything we sell. Truly crafted to make life Nice.
